Charleston has a rich history of cuisine and has rightfully earned the title of 'foodie destination'. If you have time during your trip, we highly recommend exploring the many fantastic restaurants (both new and old) this city has to offer. Some of our favorites for lunch and dinner are below or can be found on this map.
Perfect spot for lunch downtown. Healthy, fresh, and really delicious food.
Can have a very long wait, so put your name down early. Famous for their lobster roll. They have a sister restaurant on Nantucket.
Best spot in town for oysters, fried chicken, and rosé slushies.
Casual local BBQ joint with the best dry rub wings we have ever had. They have locations downtown and on Sullivan's Island.
This restaurant is on the street where Serena grew up in the Old Village and has been a long-time family favorite. Great for brunch, lunch, or dinner.
Alternatively, you can head to Sullivan's Island for a day at the beach. Then stop by Poe's Tavern for a burger or Home Team BBQ for pulled pork and wings. Don't leave the island without stopping by Beardcat's for ice cream.
The Obstinate Daughter or Fish Camp
Our favorite restaurants on Sullivan's Island if you want to head to the beach.
If you want authentic seafood, this is the place to go. Very casual and right on Shem's Creek. You can expect paper tablecloths, boiled peanuts, and fried shrimp.
No reservations, so be prepared to get in line for a table at 4:30pm. It is worth it if you are up for the wait. This is by far our favorite restaurant in town.
